May 2006: NESTA Invest in ConjunctAs of this month, NESTA have become an investor in the company. Their investment comes at a critical time as the company pushes towards market. March 2006: See us at the Innovation ShowcaseScottish Enterprise is working again with Connect Scotland to organise, what is planned to be, a bigger, better and busier event. In 2005, 54 companies and organisations participated, including BAe Systems, Nallatech, Raytheon Systems, MicroEmissive Displays, Plexus, Semefab (Scotland) and TESS. This year 60 companies will be exhibiting at the Showcase plus 7 associated organisations. The event is scheduled for the 22nd of March 2006 at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange. August 2005: See us at ECOCConjunct will be at European Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communication (ECOC) exhibition in Glasgow from the 26th to 28th September 2005. ECOC describes itself as a powerful forum, which unites academia and industry in discussion and display of the latest (and future) optical comms components, products, systems, and services. Each year international buyers and technicians visit ECOC to discover technologies, which match their specific requirements, meet new suppliers, and network. Come and see us at stand 457. April 2005: We have moved!On the 1st of April 2005, Conjunct moved into new offices in Bain Square in Livingston. Conjunct is now housed in the same building as Optocap, an arrangement that will lead to closer collaboration on the current project. Please see our finding us page for directions.
February 2005: SMART Funding AwardedConjunct is pleased to announce that is has won funding under the SMART:SCOTLAND programme 2004 (round 3). Around 20 other companies won funding in the same round. Enterprise Minister Jim Wallace said: "Support mechanisms like SMART can help continue to grow our economy, by helping small firms develop new competitive products and processes that have the potential for commercialisation." "The diversity and range of knowledge supported by these SMART awards is evidence of the flair and leading-edge expertise to be found in Scotland today." For more information click here. January 2005: Innovation Showcase for Micro & Optoelectronic ProductsScottish Enterprise, in partnership with Connect Scotland is organising a unique one-day event to showcase innovative products and technologies, developed by Scottish microelectronics and optoelectronics companies, to an international audience of potential customers, partners, suppliers, investors and other interested professionals. Conjunct will be one of around 50 exhibiting companies, including the likes of BAE, Cascade Technologies, D-TACQ Solutions, Nallatech, Optocap, Plexus, Scottish Microelectronics Centre, Semefab (Scotland) and TESS, this event is set to be a vibrant place to do business. The event is scheduled for the 3rd of February 2005 at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange. More information can be found on Connect's website. September 2004: Work Begins with OptocapWork has begun in collaboration with Optocap to realise the primary DSOI product line. Conjunct intends to have beta prototype samples available in Q3 2005 with the expertise and assistance of Optocap. May 2004: Deal Reached with OptocapA deal has been reached with Optocap for the development of Conjunct's dynamic serial optical interconnect (DSOI) technology. Optocap is a leading-edge design centre that will provide a critical link in the commercialisation of Scottish micro and optoelectronic research. Established by Scottish Enterprise and jointly funded by ERDF aid, Optocap’s £4 million centre provides a major boost for Scotland’s growing optoelectronics industry. It specialises in the development of processes to arrange delicate circuitry in the protective packaging that allows optoelectronic devices to interface and connect to external networks via optical fibres and electronic connections. The centre is being developed in conjunction with the industry body, the Scottish Optoelectronics Association, and will bridge the gap between design and manufacturing of devices. As one of the first University projects to utilise the centre, Conjunct hopes to move rapidly through to the manufacturing stage of their first product line. May 2004: Conjunct Presents at Connect SpringboardConnect holds three Springboard conferences every year at which cutting-edge technology companies present their business propositions. These conferences provide pre-start and start-up tech companies with an ideal platform for showcasing their businesses to the individuals and organisations who can help them achieve their growth potential. Conjunct presented itself in Dundee along with five other start-up companies.
